PBMares, LLP, a Top 100 accounting firm in the Mid-Atlantic, has promoted five team members across the firm.

Team members are considered for promotion based on a series of criteria including client service, knowledge gain, people/project management and business growth. The following individuals were promoted effective January 1, 2018.

To manager:
Jon-Michael Rosch (Warrenton office, assurance section). Rosch has more than nine years of public accounting experience, which includes managing audit and assurance engagements for not-for-profit organizations. He graduated from Virginia Tech with his bachelors in science in finance.

To supervisor:
Andrew Basile (Fredericksburg office, assurance section). Basile’s primary focus includes performing audits and other assurance services for not-for-profit organizations, for-profit corporations and employee benefit plans. He received his bachelor of science in business administration with a concentration in accounting from the University of Mary Washington and his master in business administration from the University of Richmond.

To senior:
Thomas Capstick (Norfolk office, assurance section). Capstick works primarily with financial institutions, nonprofit organizations and governmental entities. He earned his masters in business administration and his bachelors in science in accounting and economics from West Virginia Wesleyan College.

To senior:
Philip Smith (Norfolk office, assurance section). Smith’s primary focus includes performing audits and other assurance services for not-for-profit organizations, for-profit corporations and employee benefit plans. Smith earned his bachelor of arts in accounting and criminal justice from Virginia Wesleyan College.

To client services assurance team lead:
Sarah Evans (Harrisonburg office). Evans helped created new training materials and techniques for the client services team, as well as helped develop and implement workflow efficiencies. She graduated from the University of Virginia with a bachelor of arts in history.
