PBMares Wealth Management, a division of PBMares, LLP, has hired Shelly Braden and Kurt Johnson to help increase the firms’ footprint across the region.

Shelly Braden, Wealth Advisor (Newport News office). Braden is a certified financial planner and joins the firm after serving as a Registered Investment Advisor in Los Angeles. She earned her bachelor’s in business management from Belmont Abbey College and her master’s in financial planning and taxation with a concentration in estate planning from Golden Gate University.
Kurt Johnson, Senior Wealth Advisor (Harrisonburg office). Johnson is also a certified financial planner and carries the FINRA Series 7 & 63 and VA Life and Health Insurance Licenses. Prior to PBMares, he worked at TIAA and Fidelity Investments as a financial advisor. He earned his bachelor’s in Accounting from Indiana Wesleyan University and his master’s in Higher Ed. Administration from the University of Alabama.
