On October 22nd, Governor Hogan announced a new $250 million relief package for businesses throughout Maryland. This package provides new relief programs, as well as an expansion of existing relief programs for businesses, restaurants, Main Streets, arts and tourism.
One of the programs expanded under this package is Maryland’s Layoff Aversion Fund. Beginning Wednesday, October 28th small businesses can apply for up to $50,000 through Maryland’s Layoff Aversion Fund. This fund was allocated $20 million in funding under this new relief package. Eligible applicants must have no more than 500 employees based within the State.
