OCP staff collaborates with individuals to establish financial objectives, budgets, and weekly financial strategies. Through ongoing support, OCP encourages clients who adhere to their budgets and employs a growth-oriented approach to assist those who exhaust their budgeted funds before month-end.

Way To Go provides access to donated vehicles, vehicle repairs, and innovative ride-share solutions to empower individuals to maintain employment, access essential services, and pursue educational and training opportunities, thereby fostering financial stability and economic self-sufficiency.

Our programs address these barriers by offering a range of services, including job readiness training, career coaching, financial literacy education, and peer support. Specifically, our Career Center is a vital resource for women seeking employment and career advancement. Here, our clients receive ongoing support, including coaching, job search assistance, interview preparation, and resume building.

YWCA Richmond

This grant supports the YWCA’s MoneyW!se financial literacy program, specifically designed for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault (DVSA). The MoneyW!se program covers: 1. Money Management 2. Budgeting 3. Cost of Money 4. Banking 5. Credit 6. Insurance: 7. Investing 8. Financial Planning

Money Matters and Career Launch programs aims to promote financial literacy and equip youth with the skills necessary to succeed in a 21st-century career. Participants learn practical skills such as managing a checking account, budgeting, saving, investing, and planning for college expenses or vocational training expenses.

C3 provides the resources and soft skills training necessary to assist individuals experiencing homelessness to become members of the workforce. Employment income is crucial in order to obtain and maintain housing and this program provides wrap around services to enable clients to find stable employment.

Youth coaches work with teens on building resumes, conducting practice interviews, and acquiring part-time jobs or paid internships. Lessons from the “Bring Your A Game” curriculum impart life skills like professional etiquette, financial literacy, and money management. Ultimately, the goal of the teen program is to prepare students to tackle the crucial next steps in life.

At An Achievable Dream, students are taught the basics of financial literacy through our Financial Know-How program. This program educates students in practical skills of economics and personal finance.

“Horizons LaunchPad Internships“ will provide 30 students with a robust 5-week experience – exploring careers and their pathways, developing hard and soft skills, and creating a powerful resume reflective of their experiences and readiness to succeed! Interns will serve in supportive roles in the Horizons summer K-8 program, while also participating in skill building classes, team building activities, job shadowing and hands-on experiences.

Young Investors Group will provide employable financial skills to address social inequities, a hands-on project focused on financial analysts, and an introduction to career skills in digital marketing, financial technology and entrepreneurship.

This grant will fund a young entrepreneur training for students to include an online 30-lesson curriculum, LAUNCH & Beyond, live group coaching, and a hands-on opportunity to take their business and create a pop-up shop.
