PBMares, LLP, a Top 100 accounting and consulting firm, has elected two new partners to lead the Retirement Plan Services team. Gary Kitts, CPA, and Cindy Kochersperger, CPA, QKA, will operate out of the Firm’s Norfolk location.

Kitts has more than 25 years of experience, including leadership of a retirement plan third-party administration practice serving more than 1,200 plans. Areas of expertise include compliance services and employee benefit plan audits under the laws and regulations of the Employee Retirement Security Act of 1974, or ERISA, the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Labor. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants. In addition, he has been recognized as a “Super CPA” by Virginia Business magazine. Kitts is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in both VA and NC and earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bluefield State College.
Kochersperger has more than 20 years of public accounting experience including serving as a partner in retirement plan administration. Focusing on 401(k) and profit-sharing plans for businesses of all sizes, she consults with clients on plan design and provides on-going assistance with plan administration and compliance. Areas of expertise include daily valuation products, investment platforms, and traditional balance forward plans. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries, serves on the board of the Community Church at Western Branch and is a multi-year recipient of Virginia Business magazine’s “Super CPA” recognition. Kochersperger is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in VA, a Qualified 401(k) Administrator and a graduate of Old Dominion University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
The expanded PBMares practice includes administration services, benefit plan related tax compliance services and a portion of its employee benefit plan audit services. Kitts, and Kochersberger, and the team triples the size of the PBMares team serving the retirement plan needs of clients.
