Tom Crutchfield is the type of accountant who brings more than just numbers to the table. When he’s not advising clients on tax and finance, you will likely find him piloting a plane or enjoying a day at the races.
His approach to life is summed up by his favorite quote, “Get busy living or get busy dying,” where he embraces adventure with the same passion he brings to his work. Launching his career in 1995 at a big four firm, Tom has since gained valuable insights and expertise at various firms along the way until recently joining PBMares in 2024. He has worked closely with business owners to provide a holistic approach to their financial goals, including income tax planning, succession planning, and estate planning.
As a trusted advisor for over 30 years, Tom brings considerable experience in accounting and tax advisory services for small to mid-size businesses, professional services entrepreneurs, information technology companies, and government contracting industries.
He devotes much of his time to advising clients on tax compliance, estate and trust planning, and retirement planning, with a strong background in assurance services, including audits and financial statement reporting. Tom currently services as a member of the VSCPA Peer Review Committee and on the Northern Virginia Advisory Board for Fulton Bank.
