How Shawn got here
After serving in the United States Air Force as a cryptologic linguist, Shawn sought a career that combined teamwork, honor, and technical skills. These qualities led her to public accounting, where the team environment, integrity, and technical expertise made it a perfect fit.
Shawn joined PBMares in 2007 and was recognized early in her career as an emerging leader. Virginia Business magazine, in conjunction with the VSCPA, awarded her their Super CPA recognition in the Young CPAs category. In addition, she is an alumnus of LEAD Greater Williamsburg, an intensive community immersion program for future leaders to collaborate on regional issues.
How Shawn can help you
As an experienced auditor, she uses her knowledge, passion and skills to provide assurance services to the firm’s not-for-profit, governmental, for-profit, real estate and hospitality clients.
Shawn also leads the firm’s Enterprise Zone Program and assists clients in the application process, from assessing eligibility to performing an agreed-upon procedures engagement and walking clients through the submission process. Further, she serves a similar function for clients interested in the Historic Tax Credit program.
