Thomas built his professional foundation at West Virginia Wesleyan College, where he studied accounting and economics, followed by a Master of Business Administration. As a collegiate athlete, he brings the same discipline and teamwork from the soccer field to his career as a CPA at PBMares. He is recognized for his expertise in compliance, internal controls, and financial transparency for mission-driven clients.

As a Senior Assurance Manager, Thomas specializes in audits of not-for-profit organizations and Single Audits performed in accordance with Government Auditing Standards and Uniform Guidance. He leads engagement teams serving mission-driven organizations that receive federal and state funding, maintaining a sharp focus on compliance, internal controls, and financial transparency.
Thomas is also an active member of the firm’s Not-for-Profit Niche Team. In this capacity, he collaborates with colleagues across the firm to develop technical guidance, share best practices, and enhance services tailored to the unique needs of nonprofit organizations.
